2 coasts ... 1 HOPE

On January 6th 2009, I will be flying out to LA and walking back to Boston, raising money for cancer research. The route I'm taking should take 5 months and cover roughly 3,800 miles. We will be filming the entire trip for an upcoming documentary.

Lets get ready to ruuummmbbble.

I am sitting here this morning a little scared. I'm a little nervous about the next ten days of solitude. I just want to thank everyone for their support and encouragement. To all my family and friends I say thanks. I'd list you all but I have to walk sometime today (HAHA). Thanks to everyone who takes the time to read my rambling thoughts and run-on sentences. And to everyone who has made a donation to any of these organizations on behalf of the "walk", THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. My vision when I started this was to make a small difference and WE are.

Today's main event: Jesse Eric Simmons vs. The Open Road

What the road doesn't realize is I don't walk alone. Let's get ready to ruuuummmmmbble

If you ever need a boost:

1.) Find two trees, poles, signs, rocks or otherwise and quickly setup your Trek Light Hammock.

2.) Lie down, use one foot on the ground to give yourself a gentle rocking push.

3.) Look up at the sky and soak it in, close your eyes for a few minutes and become aware of the feeling of weightlessness after all those hours on your feet.

4.) Life is good. You're on a mission. Walk 20 more miles and reward yourself with another hammock hang!

You're doing awesome, keep it up!
